Kleaner PRO 11: the new cleanup engine, presets, and everything you asked for

The engine: no more hangs on big directory trees

The old engine used the stock directory traversal and never checked file in-use state: trying to delete something another program held looked like a hang. The new engine builds its own WinAPI walker with long paths (>260 chars), parallel root processing, and in-use checks via the Restart Manager — the same mechanism Explorer uses for “which process is locking this file?”.

Progress and cancellation now exist for every long operation: the scan reports how many files it has seen and which folder it is in; cleanup can be stopped at any moment and the report shows exactly what was already done. The important-file whitelist is built into the core: unfinished downloads, Office lock files, the MSI cache and Steam are never touched — by any preset.

Presets and dry-run

Four presets cover every scenario: Safe (temp and caches, nothing system-level), Recommended (adds prefetch older than a week, thumbnails, the recycle bin), Aggressive (system logs, the icon cache, Delivery Optimization with service stops) and Nuclear (search-index rebuild, only with per-step confirmation). A preset is not a marketing word — it is a ready-made set of directories with age filters and rules.

Dry-run shows the complete list of what would be deleted, grouped by target — and deletes nothing. A restore point before Aggressive/Nuclear is one checkbox away in settings. After cleanup — a report with HTML/CSV export to the desktop.
