Will this tool inspect or delete my files?
No. It only calculates percentages and a difference from the target you entered. Use Windows Storage settings to inspect cleanup candidates; confirm each category yourself.

Enter your drive capacity, available space, and the free-space buffer you want to keep. This calculator runs in your browser; it never scans, uploads, or deletes files.
Find the capacity and available space in File Explorer → This PC. The percentage is your own planning target, not a Windows requirement.
Enter all three values to see the current free-space share and how far it is from your chosen target.
This is a calculation only—it does not identify files that are safe to remove. Windows update needs vary by version and device; there is no single free-space percentage that fits every PC.
Start with Windows’ own storage screens. Review each category before confirming anything:
Open Settings → System → Storage → Cleanup recommendations (Windows 11), or Temporary files / Disk Cleanup. Check the selected categories and read what each one removes before confirming.
Sort folders by size and uninstall apps you recognize and no longer need. Move personal files you want to keep to another drive or backed-up storage instead of deleting them blindly.
These may contain personal files. Review them yourself before emptying or enabling automatic cleanup; cloud-synced files can have separate availability settings.
Never remove files from C:\Windows\WinSxS manually. Use Windows or Microsoft’s documented DISM cleanup options instead.

No universal percentage is right for every PC or update. Treat your target as a personal planning buffer, then follow the requirements shown by Windows Update and the device manufacturer.
