How to Install AMD Chipset Drivers on Windows 11

What the package contains and why it matters

Chipset drivers sit below every other driver: they teach Windows how the platform's PCI bridges, power management, USB controllers and sensors talk to the CPU. Without them Windows falls back to generic drivers, and the symptoms are quiet but real: unknown devices or PCI Device entries under Other devices in Device Manager, missing AMD power plans, misbehaving USB ports and higher idle power. Installing step by step

Find your exact platform first: on a prebuilt or laptop, check the model; on a desktop, the motherboard model — CPU-Z or the board manual tells you the chipset if you are unsure. Run it, accept the license and let it unpack and install — expect a couple of minutes and one reboot at the end. A clean reinstall is worth it when the old install is broken: uninstall AMD Chipset Software from Installed apps first, reboot, then run the fresh installer.
